Medify MA-50 Air Purifier Review

The need for affordable and high quality HEPA UV air purifiers is constantly increasing. From homes to schools, restaurants and other occupations, it is essential to keep aggressive chemical, chemical and biological contaminants away from indoor air. Exposure to these pollutants has been shown in more and more studies to cause health problems.

Medify MA-50 is one of the most valuable large room air purifiers today. It is ideal for homes, offices, schools, universities, classrooms, hospitals, restaurants and other large rooms in a corporate environment. Here is the Medify MA-50 air purifier review for you.

Medify MA-50 Stylish Design

The Medify MA-50 air purifier weighs 7 pounds and 21 by 9.5 inches. A great combination of modern design and technology, it can be easily placed in any space.

It comes fully assembled with attached filter. The air purifier has a four-way air intakes and an upward air outlet. The premium ABS plastic body of the purifier has a glossy coating that gives the purifier a great look and enhances its attractiveness. The base has rubber bases. The Medify MA-50 air purifier is a floor model, so the rubber bases prevent it from slipping. They also provide stability to the scrubber, preventing it from slipping on children or pets.

At the top of the device is a touch screen with buttons for power, timer, fan speed, dimmer, child lock and UV.

The timer button rotates in the 2 hour, 4 hour, 8 hour, 12 hour and off settings. This button is useful when traveling or at night. If you set the timer for 2 or 4 hours, the air purifier will continue to run during this time. The air purifier shuts down after that time.

Medify MA-50 Filtration System

The Medify MA-50 air purifier has a powerful 3-in-1 filtration system and an optional UV sterilizer.

By trapping large particles, the pre-filter increases the life of the H13 HEPA filter. For better performance, vacuum the pre-filter once a month.

H13 HEPA filter

The next step in the filtration system is the HEPA H13 filter. This filter is more efficient than traditional HEPA filters. It captures most air pollutants, including fine dust, smoke particles, bacteria and even viruses.

It basically traps 99.9% of air pollutants as small as 0.1 microns. The HEPA H13 filter reduces the risk of asthma and allergies by trapping invisible contaminants.

Carbon filter

The last step is the carbon filter filtration system. Consists of carbon granules, it absorbs VOCs, smoke, gases and odors of houses and pets. VOCs are created by burning fuels such as wood, kerosene and gas. They also come from personal care products such as hair sprays, cleansers and perfumes.

Prolonged exposure to VOCs has a negative impact on health. The lifespan of the composite filter is 3000 hours, which is equivalent to about 6 months if used 16 hours a day. Check the filter replacement indicator to know when to replace the filter. If red flashes, replace the filter.

UV light

This device has an ultraviolet light that is designed to eliminate mold and germs inside the filter. However, UV light is permanent and, like an LED, is less effective than mercury-based UV lamps.

Medify MA-50 Room Coverage

The company offers the Medify MA-50 with a 550 square foot room cover. The ACH of Medify MA-50 is up to 4X. If the Medify MA-25 does only two exchanges in 1 hour, it can cover a space of 1000 square feet. And for an ACH rating of 4X, the room coverage is exactly 500 square feet.

Medify MA-50 Air Purifier Sound

Medify Air isn’t really a brand of silent air purifiers, but the Medify MA-50 maintains the same sound as any other compact device. Its minimum noise level is 35 dB (db), which is the sound level of the library and is not too bad.

At top speeds, noise levels reach 56 decibels. This is enough noise to make it impossible to run at full speed during sleep.

Medify MA-50 Power Consumption

The Medify MA-50 consumes 55 watts and this air purifier is an Energy Star product. It has almost the same fan power as Honeywell HPA300 and consumes about 1/3 of the power. To be fair, its top speed consumes even less power than the Coway AP-1512HH. Using the Medify MA-50 for 8 hours a day costs $ 20 each year.
